Apple has revealed more than 50 third-party apps being optimised for the iPhone Duo, showing how popular apps will work on the foldable phone’s larger screen.
The company highlighted several major apps, including Netflix, Prime Video, Zoom, Slack and Lyft. Developers are adapting them to the iPhone Duo’s different layouts, adding features that work when the device is folded, unfolded or propped up on a surface.
Netflix will let users browse short, vertical previews of films and TV shows on the outer screen before opening the device to continue watching on the larger inner display. Apple also demonstrated how Netflix and Prime Video work when the phone is partially folded, allowing users to watch content without holding it.
The MLB app has already received its iPhone Duo update, displaying live games, scores and statistics across the full width of the inner screen. Zoom will show shared content and meeting participants simultaneously, while Slack and Lyft will also take advantage of the additional screen space.
Microsoft is preparing similar upgrades for Word and Outlook, with both apps expected to receive what Apple describes as a “desktop-class experience” in the coming weeks. Word will display formatting tools alongside documents, while Outlook will let users view their inbox and an open email side by side, making multitasking more practical on the foldable display.
Other apps getting optimised include Instagram, Flighty, Fantastical, Things, Bear, Notewise, SmartGym, Paramount+, DoorDash, OpenTable and Yelp, alongside games such as Sneaky Sasquatch and Retrocade.
Apple says all existing iPhone apps will still run on the Duo, although their appearance and behaviour will depend on whether developers have adopted the iOS 26, iOS 27 or iOS 27.1 software development kits.
More than 50 apps are already receiving or preparing updates, giving the iPhone Duo a broad selection of foldable-friendly software across entertainment, communication and productivity.
