Apple has launched a new 14-inch MacBook Pro and iMac with its latest M6 processors, as it reportedly prepares to introduce its first touchscreen laptop later on Wednesday.

The 14-inch MacBook Pro starts at $1,999 (£1,500), with the M6 iMac priced starting at $1,499, with both available for pre-order starting on Wednesday and availability starting on 6 November.

The M6 MacBook Pro offers up to 30 percent faster graphics and 25 percent local AI performance compared to the M5 model, with up to 24 hours of battery life, according to the company.

The new iMac offers up to five times the AI performance of the previous M4 model, Apple said.

Apple’s “Pro and Tell” event on Wednesday in Los Angeles is expected to feature Apple’s first MacBook Pro with a touchscreen, Bloomberg has reported.

Earlier this week Apple updated its iPad Mini with a new screen and water resistance.
