Apple has been ordered to pay $5.7bn (£4.3bn) in damages after a US jury found it had used another firm’s tech without permission. Audio firm Taction Technology claimed in 2021 that Apple had infringed two of its patents for , which enable vibrations for actions such as receiving a message or pressing a button. This tech is built into devices like the iPhone and Apple Watch. Apple said it had not used Taction’s vibration tech and would appeal the verdict. “While we thank the jury for their consideration, we strongly disagree with today’s verdict and the damages awarded, which are entirely unsupported by the facts,” it said. SpaceX launched its massive Starship rocket early Monday, sending the spacecraft into orbit for the first time. Starship reached orbit around 8:15 a.m. local time with SpaceX employees in attendance at the launch loudly cheering the milestone. The told CNBC by email that it issued a “license authorization for the SpaceX Starship Super Heavy Flight 14 launch and reentry operations” on Sept. 26. With the 14th test flight of Starship, Elon Musk’s aerospace and defense company also planned to deploy 26 of its new Starlink V3 satellites. CNBC

Apple is working on a “completely revamped” Vision Pro headset that could go in any of four directions and likely won’t arrive before late 2028 or early 2029, according to ‘s Mark Gurman.

Writing in his latest , Gurman said Apple’s Vision team is exploring four concepts for the device, codenamed N224, including designs that offload internal components in a similar way to Meta’s latest VR Glasses, which are expected to launch next spring. An external computing module on Meta’s device houses the battery and main processor, and can be clipped to the user’s waist.

Anker has launched the eufy SoloCam E50, a solar-powered outdoor security camera that pairs two 4K lenses with a motorised pan-tilt head. The camera costs $229.99 and is available for pre-order on eufy’s website, with shipping expected by the end of October 2026. The E50 is part of the eufy Edge 5.0 Yard Protection System, a five-device lineup that also includes the TrackLight Cam S1, Video Doorbell S4, eufyCam E52 and Window Camera E10. These plates have been adapted to avoid their details being identified by automatic number plate recognition (ANPR) systems, which are used to enforce speed limits and low emission zones as well as to track criminals.
