Beats has teamed up with Pokémon to give its popular Beats Pill speaker a special-edition makeover, featuring Pikachu and Mimikyu in a new design that’s set to launch on October 15.
The collaboration brings the two Pokémon characters to the speaker’s grille, with Pikachu appearing alongside a greyscale version of Mimikyu. The grey speaker also features raised lightning bolt details, giving the familiar Beats Pill a playful new look without changing its underlying hardware.
The Pokémon theme extends beyond the speaker itself. Beats has designed special packaging with Pikachu and Mimikyu’s ears sticking out, making the box part of the display rather than something buyers will immediately throw away.
For the first time, Beats is also including lanyard charms with the Pill. The set features three designs: a Poké Ball, a lightning bolt and the familiar Beats ‘b’ logo, adding another collectable touch for Pokémon fans.
Beyond the cosmetic changes, this is still the same Beats Pill that returned in 2024. That means buyers get up to 24 hours of battery life, along with IP67 dust and water resistance, making it suitable for outdoor listening.
It’s a fairly straightforward collaboration, but one that makes sense given the popularity of both characters. Pikachu has been the face of Pokémon since the franchise launched in 1996, while Mimikyu, introduced much later, is known for disguising itself as Pikachu in the hope of making friends.
The special-edition Beats Pill will be available from October 15, priced at $149, the same as the standard model. It will be sold through Apple Stores and Target in the US and Apple and Argos in the UK.
