Ride-hailing and mobility platform Bolt has announced a strategic partnership with EV manufacturer Lucid Motors to bring at least 25,000 fully autonomous robotaxis to major European cities.

The upcoming fleet will be built around leveraging advanced vehicle architecture designed for . This classification means the vehicles will be capable of operating entirely without human intervention within defined operating conditions and regions.

To achieve this, the vehicles are expected to integrate NVIDIA’s Hyperion autonomous-vehicle hardware and software platform, providing the complex sensor suites and computing power necessary for safe driverless navigation.

The collaboration forms a core pillar of Bolt’s wider roadmap to scale its network to 100,000 autonomous vehicles across Europe by 2035.

Under the agreement, Bolt’s dedicated autonomous driving unit will help establish specific requirements for vehicle design, software, safety standards, and the rider experience.

Unlike Lucid’s current high-end retail mix, including the Air sedan and Gravity SUV, the robotaxi project will utilize the more compact, upcoming Midsize vehicle line.

The companies plan to co-develop the platform alongside third-party autonomous driving technology partners, working closely with European regulators and policymakers to pave the way for a commercial rollout.

The first wave of autonomous Lucids is slated to hit European roads in 2028, marking a significant milestone for commercial robotaxi adoption outside of North America.
