Huawei’s new sub-brand confirmed as ‘Osta’, new flagship phones leaked

Huawei is preparing to launch a new sub-brand officially named Osta for international markets, rather than the placeholder translations of the Chinese name Xingmang including “Starlight” and “Starburst”.

The brand is slated to debut with two high-end devices: the Osta O1 and the Osta O1 Pro.

Initial reports suggested the new lineup might feature mid-range hardware powered by Kirin 8-series chipsets. However, new leaks indicate that both upcoming smartphones will be positioned firmly at the flagship level, with pricing and specifications matching Huawei’s main flagship tier – partly driven by soaring memory and component costs across the industry.

The standard will reportedly feature a display curved on all four sides, paired with a large circular camera module on the rear panel.

Meanwhile, the adopts a distinctive wide-screen candybar form factor. It is tipped to sport a 6.39-inch 1.5K LTPS flat display with a 16:9.5 aspect ratio and narrow bezels, bearing a strong visual resemblance to the Pura X View. On the back, the O1 Pro features a horizontal camera strip.

In terms of configurations, the O1 Pro is expected to launch in four distinct memory and storage variants: 12GB/256GB, 12GB/512GB, 16GB/512GB, and a top-tier 16GB/1TB model.

Despite the creation of the Osta sub-brand specifically for these alternative designs, tipsters indicate that wide-screen handsets will not be exclusive to the new label and will continue to appear within Huawei’s core product lineup.

Retail packaging will feature the Osta branding prominently. Official launch dates and regional availability details are expected to be announced by Huawei in the coming weeks.
