Humax EV Charging has announced the upcoming UK launch of the Humax MX PRO, a 22kW commercial charging solution engineered specifically for corporate fleets, depots, workplaces and multi-tenant residential buildings.

Debuting at the Fleet & Mobility Live exhibition at the NEC Birmingham, the MX PRO is designed to tackle the logistical and financial hurdles of scaling electric vehicle infrastructure. A core feature of the system is its pre-wiring architecture, known as “MX Ready.”

Sites can install backplates and protective dummy covers ahead of time, allowing businesses to expand their charging networks seamlessly as fleet sizes grow without requiring repetitive, disruptive electrical work. Daisy-chain connectivity and dynamic load balancing further optimise power distribution across multiple units.

The hardware is built to offer robust operational flexibility. It features an open approach to Charge Point Management Systems (CPMS), supporting OCPP 1.6J with upgradeability to OCPP 2.0.1 and pre-integrations with platforms like Monta and Fuuse.

For drivers, the unit supports AutoCharge and ISO 15118-2 Plug & Charge protocols for automated, secure authentication, eliminating the need for standalone apps or RFID cards. Network reliability is bolstered by a built-in 4G eSIM that allows operators to switch providers remotely.

Matthew McMullan, director of Automotive and Energy at Humax EV Charging, emphasized the importance of future-proofing, stating that the platform provides operators with total freedom over their software ecosystems while ensuring continuous hardware diagnostics.

Delivering up to 22kW across single- and three-phase installations, the unit is rated IP54 and IK10 for durability, features an integrated 4.3-inch LCD display with QR code integration and includes a MID-certified meter for accurate cost recovery.

Scheduled to hit the UK market in late November through major distributors, the price of the Humax MX PRO is yet to be confirmed.
