I found 5 free Galaxy Watch faces so good I'd happily pay for them

A person using the Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra2

I've been using my Samsung Galaxy smartwatch for a few years, but I've never been this enthusiastic about watch faces. They are my new tech obsession, as I'm always on the lookout for a new watch face to try on my smartwatch.

I've tried so many watch faces on in the last couple of months. I loved many of them and have a fair idea about which suits whom. I have my favorites, which are the easiest to recommend.

I'm glad I found them, because I spent days researching online and experimenting with watch faces on my smartwatch to discover favorites.

All my favorite watch faces are free, and I bet almost everyone will like having at least one of them as their default watch face. They are so good that I'd even pay a subscription fee.

I found five Galaxy Watch faces so good that I'd happily pay for them.

AE Trex is my favorite retro watch face

The best one to evoke nostalgia

I love retro tech, but they lack the commonly found in modern devices. I wouldn't go back and start using an old piece of tech just because of nostalgia.

The AE Trex Retro watch face makes my Galaxy Watch feel like a watch from the olden days, without compromising on the essential features I need.

Along with the retro vibes, I get a shortcut to my Google events, the ability to set alarms, and a quick way to check heart rate. It's also one of those rare watch faces that gives you pretty much everything related to time; it shows the detailed time and the day of the week.

I can see the number of seconds on my watch face. As anyone who goes to the gym or exercises daily knows, it is handy. However, one downside is that this watch face isn't as customizable as I would like.

I can easily ignore it because the rest of the watch face is so good. It's currently free on the Google Play Store, but it is one of those products I'd happily pay for.

Vanishing Hour is the most minimalistic watch face I've ever used

It also offers one important feature I look for in all watch faces

Everybody's taste is different in my family and friends' circle, but they all agreed that Vanishing Hour is the most good-looking watch face they've seen. I have another reason to like the Vanishing Hour watch face, though.

I like it for its minimalism more than anything else. It shows a minute hand and a large numeral that represents the current hour, which vanishes as the hand moves forward. I've never seen anything like this before.

While it pursues minimalism to the extreme, it includes an important feature I love to have on all watch faces. By using its customization features, I can quickly set an app shortcut or leave it blank.

The watch face also lets you change colors, the style of the large numeral, the minute hand, and the background color. It also plays a nice little animation when an hour has elapsed.

Vanishing Hour is free on the Google Play Store, though I wouldn't have thought twice about paying to buy its license if it were behind a paywall.

S4U RC ONE-Basic looks stunning and is highly customizable

It ticks pretty much all the boxes

This watch face doesn't have a hybrid identity. It is a fully analog watch face, with plenty of customizations. You can set shortcuts for heart rate, steps, sleep information, and even your favorite app.

Despite its many features, it doesn't have a complicated setup. You can customize the watch face just as you'd do on any other watch face on your Galaxy Watch.

However, this doesn't mean the watch face lacks uniqueness. I like how it places the date and the day of the week on the right side. In its default setup, a shortcut to your battery information sits opposite the date.

I love this inclusion because otherwise, you'd need to swipe down from the top to check how much battery is left. You can add up to six app shortcuts to this watch face, which is the most I've seen.

You can download the S4U RC ONE-Basic watch face for free from the Google Play Store, though I wouldn't mind paying for it if it wasn't free.

Feisar blends traditional analog hands with digital

It's so much more than this

Feisar is the exact opposite of the Vanishing Hour watch face. A lot happens on the watch face, so if you like a busy one, you'll certainly like Feisar.

It features a bold design. You can see time in a digital format, though a tiny analog-style hand represents the seconds the watch is measuring. It also has a segmented line below the digital time that acts as a seconds indicator.

I haven't seen anything like this before.

However, this isn't the only way to count seconds. It also shows the number in the middle towards the right side. You can also see the date and day of the week on it.

It also lets you add a phone battery complication, so you can quickly see when you need to charge your phone without unlocking it.

Feisar is available for free on the Google Play Store.

Concentric is the coolest-looking watch face I've ever seen

This is my current favorite

I've never used anything remotely as cool as Concentric in my three years of using a smartwatch. This is my current favorite, and I'm using it on my Watch 4 Classic.

You can set up to five complications by customizing the watch face. That's useful, but it's not why it's my current favorite.

It has a unique rotating outer ring that does the same job as the seconds hand in an analog watch. It is so satisfying to watch it move that sometimes I just look at my Galaxy Watch for just that.

You can change the ring style, choose a different accent color, switch modes, try different complication color options, and more.

These are all available on most of the , but I haven't seen a rotating dial quite like the one in the Concentric watch face. Anyone who sees the watch face will notice it immediately.

The Concentric watch face is available for free on the Google Play Store.

I'll keep exploring new watch faces for my Galaxy Watch

There aren't as many as there are watch faces. Even a few months ago, I didn't know the names of my current favorite watch faces.

Back then, I recommended a different set of watch faces. It may happen again, and I might find another set that's better than what I love using right now.

I want this to happen, and that's my biggest motivation to keep exploring new watch faces for my Galaxy Watch. However, the ones I mentioned above will always hold a special place because nothing has made me this excited to keep trying new watch faces.
