Oppo Find X10 Pro Max vs iPhone 18 Pro Max: Android or iPhone?

As the Oppo Find X10 Pro Max is now available globally, we’re interested to see how it compares to the iPhone 18 Pro Max.

Although realistically deciding between the Oppo Find X10 Pro Max and iPhone 18 Pro Max will depend on whether you’re cemented in the Android or iOS ecosystem, it’s interesting to see what really separates the two.

Price and Availability

There’s no getting around the fact that both the Oppo Find X10 Pro Max and iPhone 18 Pro Max are expensive handsets. However, the Find 10 Pro Max is the priciest of the two, with an RRP of £1,499.

In comparison, the iPhone 18 Pro Max starts at a slightly more conservative, but still pretty hefty, £/$1,299.

The Find X10 Pro Max runs on MediaTek’s Dimensity 9600 Pro which, according to Oppo, means the Find X10 Pro can handle demanding tasks, processing and on-device AI while conserving energy.

Instead, the iPhone 18 Pro Max runs on Apple’s A20 Pro chip – and it’s fair to say MediaTek has a lot to live up to. We concluded that the A20 Pro enabled a hard-to-fault performance within the iPhone 18 Pro Max, regardless of whether we were gaming or processing AI requests. Not only that, but its build helps increase battery life to levels we’ve not seen on iPhones in a long time.

iPhone 18 Pro Max - destiny rising

As we’re yet to review the Oppo Find X10 Pro Max, we’ll have to wait and see how Dimensity 9600 Pro compares.

All three of the Find X10 Pro Max’s rear cameras are 200MP

Although both handsets are equipped with three rear lenses, all three of the Find X10 Pro Max’s are 200MP lenses. In comparison, all three of the iPhone 18 Pro Max’s are 48MP instead.

That difference may look pretty big on paper, but in reality we were left impressed with the iPhone 18 Pro Max’s photography performance. Put simply, we concluded that the iPhone 18 Pro Max is a fantastic choice for getting reliably good photos without requiring much effort.

One of the biggest camera upgrades with this year’s iPhone is the variable aperture on the main lens, which allows you to alter how much light hits the lens. It’s a first for an iPhone and, though it likely shouldn’t be reason you splurge, it performs well.

Otherwise, the Find X10 Pro has a lot of tricks up its sleeve. Developed by both Oppo and Hasselblad, the X10 Pro’s lenses can support 8K video recording across all focal lengths, 4K Dolby Vision and up to 5x slow motion too.

As last year’s Oppo Find X9 Ultra is currently on our best camera phones list, we have high hopes for the Find X10 Pro.

Oppo Find X10 Pro Max has a larger battery

We should disclaim that we don’t actually know the battery capacity of the iPhone 18 Pro Max. Instead, Apple just promises the handset will see up to 29 hours of typical use on a single charge.

Oppo has revealed that the Find X10 Pro Max is equipped with a hefty 7150mAh cell, which is among the largest we’ve seen on any smartphone. With this in mind, we reasonably expect the Find X10 Pro Max to offer at least a day’s worth of battery, and perhaps even eke out two.

Oppo Find X10 Pro Max is compatible with the teleconverter lens

Sold separately, the Find X10 Pro Max is compatible with the Hasselblad teleconverter lens that gets you closer to the action. With a new design compared to last year’s, the teleconverter can change the default zoom of the telephoto lens to 10x, with lossless cropping up to 40x zoom too. It’s also fitted with OIS and EIS and promises to preserve detail and natural skin tones too.

Oppo AI vs Apple Intelligence

As expected with a 2026 flagship, both the Find X10 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max are fitted with their own respective AI toolkits. Although Apple Intelligence does see some upgrades and new inclusions with iOS 27, specifically Siri AI which we find works better than the older model, the toolkit still shouldn’t be the reason why you upgrade to an iPhone 18 Pro Max.

The Find X10 Pro Max is fitted with Oppo AI instead, which includes the usual line-up of AI-powered tools including translation, writing tools and Google’s Gemini too.

Existing ecosystems aside, there are a few reasons why you’d choose one handset over the other. With the Find X10 Pro Max, you’ll benefit from a line-up of 200MP cameras, a larger battery and the supported teleconverter lens too. On the other hand, the iPhone 18 Pro Max is a seriously powerful handset that’s fitted with an easy-to-use and reliable camera set-up that most users will struggle to fault.
