Oppo Find X10 Pro Max vs Oppo Find X10: What’s the difference?

Oppo has finally launched its flagship smartphone series globally, following an initial release in China.

The series is made up of the Oppo Find X10 Pro Max and Find X10, but what really separates the two?

We’ve compared the specs of the Find X10 Pro Max to the Find X10 to help you decide between the handsets. Read on to see the differences and whether you think either stand a chance at making it into our best smartphone and best Android phone round-ups.

Price and Availability

The Oppo Find X10 Pro Max is the pricier of the flagship series, with an RRP of a pretty hefty £1,499. To put that into perspective, the iPhone 18 Pro Max is cheaper with a starting price of £1,299.

In comparison, the Find X10 starts at £1,099.

Oppo Find X10 Pro Max has three rear 200MP lenses

One of the biggest differences between the Find X10 Pro Max and Find X10 is with their respective camera set-ups. Although both have three rear lenses, including a main, ultrawide and telephoto, they differ with their exact resolution offerings.

All three of the Find X10 Pro Max’s lenses are 200MP, and support 8K video across all focal lengths. Speaking of video, the X10 Pro Max introduces Open Gate full-frame recording which Oppo promises will preserve more image information, provide greater post-processing flexibility and enable free switching horizontal and vertical composition too – making it an ideal choice for content creators.

In comparison, the main and telephoto lenses of the Find X10 are 200MP while its ultrawide is 50MP. Although it doesn’t quite reach the video recording heights of its Pro Max alternative, the Find X10 still supports 4K Dolby Vision and can reach up to 20x lossless zoom too.

Both the Find X10 and Find X10 Pro Max run on MediaTek chips, though they differ with their exact iterations. Unsurprisingly, the Find X10 Pro Max runs on the more powerful Dimensity 9600 Pro which is designed to deliver more performance while conserving energy too. Of course as it’s a flagship smartphone, the chip also enables the running of on-device AI.

Otherwise, the Find X10 runs on MediaTek’s Dimensity 9600M. Built with Dimensity 9600 Pro platform technologies, MediaTek promises the 9600M brings “exceptional imagining, intelligent AI, powerful performance, immersive gaming and seamless connectivity”. While we’re yet to review either processor ourselves just yet, we have high expectations for the flagship chips.

Both have a 7150mAh battery

If you’ve been following the Find X10 series since its launch in China, then just note that the specs for the global series aren’t the same – mainly the battery. That means although the Find X10 series boasts massive 8000mAh batteries in China, elsewhere it’ll sport a slightly smaller 7150mAh cell instead.

This, however, is still a seriously impressive sounding battery. While it is a slight downgrade from last year’s Oppo Find X9 Pro’s 7500mAh capacity, the 7150mAh should confidently see users through a busy day before conking out. In fact, considering the battery is bigger than last year’s Find X9 which easily saw two-days of battery, we have pretty high expectations for both the Find X10 Pro Max and X10.

Both promise six years of Android support

Sure Oppo doesn’t quite match Samsung or Google’s seven year promise, we’re pleased to see that the Find X10 series is promised six years of Android support.

Both will ship with ColorOS 17, the latest version of the custom Android skin that’s found across Oppo, OnePlus and Realme handsets.

As we’re yet to review either the Oppo Find X10 Pro Max and Find X10, we’ll refrain from giving a conclusive verdict for now. However, with three 200MP rear lenses and Dimensity 9600 Pro at its helm, the Find X10 Pro Max seems like the better suited option for demanding users and content creators too.

Having said that, it’s worth remembering the £1,499 price tag. With that in mind, the cheaper X10 could be a more appealing option for those with a tighter budget.
