If you’re searching for the best vacuum cleaner right now for a home with pets, this pet vacuum is a very good contender, especially as it now costs £68 to £83 less than the £180 to £195 it sold for through most of October. It’s basically one of the best bang-for-buck vacuums on the market.

Pet hair is where the money goes furthest, as Vax’s HairWrap Resist brush roll stops long, short and pet hair wrapping around it, so the bar stays clear instead of clogging with knotted fur after every clean.

The same roll pairs agitating bristles with silicone flaps to pick up from carpets and hard floors alike, while LEDs on the floorhead light up the fur along skirting boards and a bumper protects furniture as you clean around it.

Once the floors are done, the canister lifts off the Vax LiftOut Pet so you can carry it up the stairs or out to the car, with 12.5m of reach from the pole and hose for ceiling corners.

Sofas and armchairs get their own attention from the Pet Hair Remover Tool, whose hair nibs lift fur out of upholstery, with a crevice tool also in the box for the gaps down the side of cushions.

Everything it collects goes through two-stage filtration that traps 99.9% of dust and allergens down to 0.3 microns, and the 2L bin empties at the touch of a button, so dust and hair go straight into the rubbish.

Keeping it in shape is simple too, with a washable filter, a brush bar that comes out without tools, and a five-year guarantee from Vax, so the machine is covered through plenty of moulting seasons to come.
