Chinese robot maker Pudu Robotics has opened its European headquarters in Neuss, near Düsseldorf, as it builds out its business across the region.
The Shenzhen-based company announced plans for the German site in September, following a showcase of its robots at the IFA trade fair in Berlin. The headquarters is now fully operational, bringing together offices, a showroom, a warehouse, training rooms, and sales, repair, and after-sales services under one roof.
The company says it has shipped more than 130,000 machines across over 85 countries and regions.
Its European business has grown quickly. Pudu now operates in more than 20 countries in the region, and says sales in Germany, France, the UK, the Netherlands, Spain, Italy and Poland have grown by more than 60% annually over the past two years.
Its customers include retailers EDEKA, Albert Heijn and Carrefour, hotel groups Marriott and Van der Valk, and Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport.
One of its larger deployments is at Swiss supermarket chain Denner, part of the Migros Group. The retailer has rolled out 200 CC1 cleaning robots across its stores. The rollout began in late 2025 after a trial at four branches, with regional distributor Robobee responsible for training and maintenance.
That kind of deployment requires more than delivering robots to a customer. Businesses need staff who can install the machines, train employees, and keep them running.
Pudu Robotics now has nearly 50 sales staff and almost 40 technical support staff in Europe, alongside a service centre in Germany and warehouses for robots and spare parts in Germany and the Netherlands.
“Europe is an important growth market for Pudu Robotics,” said Bella Sun, the company’s vice president and general manager for Europe.
The company’s expansion comes as Chinese manufacturers gain ground across the robotics industry. China now accounts for almost all humanoid robots shipped worldwide, while Chinese-built machines are finding roles in European workplaces, including at a UK recycling company.
The company raised nearly 1bn yuan in April at a valuation exceeding 10bn yuan, according to Gasgoo. Pudu said its revenue more than doubled in 2025 compared with the previous year.
