Unlike Google, Samsung doesn't have to face severe criticism for killing off its products too soon. While the South Korean giant has done that at times, Google has done it way more often.
The apps the Mountain View tech giant plans to discontinue next are anybody's guess, but we do know what Samsung is planning to do. The former has started notifying users that one of its apps, released only a few months ago, is being discontinued.
As our friends at Android Authority first spotted, the Samsung Sound app has started showing a notice saying it will be available until March 2027. Our Samsung Galaxy phones displayed the same notice when we opened the Samsung Sound app.
The Samsung Sound app isn't very popular among Samsung users, and the frustrations are clearly visible on the Google Play Store. The app has a poor rating of 3.1 stars on the Play Store, which isn't encouraging for users to try it.
However, in Samsung's defense, the company released the app only in February this year, so it hasn't even been a year before Samsung decided to discontinue it. Maybe the company would've ironed out issues had it not planned to kill the app.
What may have prompted Samsung to discontinue it

For those who aren't aware, the Samsung Sound app is a control setup for Samsung's audio hardware. It allows you to add speakers, and after you complete the setup, you can control things like volume, equalizer, and more. All these features are already available in the SmartThings app, so the Sound app couldn't position itself as something different or as having anything unique.
In addition, the Sound app is missing some of the useful control options to better manage the speakers. Worse, plenty of users pointed out bugs in several existing features. Samsung could've fixed all this, but the company chose a completely different route and decided to kill it instead.
However, if you are a Samsung Sound user, it isn't all bad news. In the notice it sent out to users, the company said that it'll integrate the Samsung Sound app into SmartThings. Since the Sound app will retire in March next year, we can expect Samsung to complete the process before that month.
But don't wait that long; start using the SmartThings app as soon as you can to control your Samsung .
