Shure has introduced the MV6 Gen 2 USB gaming microphone, bringing upgraded audio processing and noise reduction features to gamers and streamers after clearer voice recordings without involving a complicated set-up process.
The new entry-level microphone takes inspiration from Shure’s professional SM7 and MV7 models, combining a cardioid dynamic capsule with built-in digital audio processing. The mic connects through a USB-C cable and works with Windows, Mac, iOS and Android devices.
One of MV6’s biggest features is its Adjustable Auto Level Mode. It can automatically manage microphone gain to keep voices consistent when users switch between quiet conversations and louder gaming moments. There’s also a Real-time Denoiser that filters out background noise, with adjustable intensity to help keep unwanted sounds out of recordings.
Shure has also included its Digital Popper Stopper technology, which reduces harsh popping sounds caused by certain consonants without needing a physical pop filter.
For those who want more control over their sound, the MV6 Gen 2 offers a five-band equaliser and three audio presets for speech, singing and instruments. Users can adjust these settings through Shure’s MOTIV apps on both desktop and mobile, with the option to save presets across devices.
The microphone also features a tap-to-mute button, which can be disabled to prevent accidental muting, alongside a 3.5mm headphone jack for zero-latency monitoring. Its cardioid pickup pattern helps isolate the user’s voice from surrounding noise, making it suitable for streaming, gaming and video calls.
As for the hardware, the MV6 Gen 2 uses a 24-bit, 48kHz converter and supports sound pressure levels of up to 128dB SPL. Arriving in black and white finishes, included in the packaging is a matching desktop stand designed to reduce vibrations and a USB-C cable included in the box.
The Shure MV6 Gen 2 is available now through Shure’s official website, priced at $169 / £159.
