London travel tech company Stasher has secured £3m in new funding as it looks to expand its luggage storage marketplace and smart locker network across the UK and Europe.
The funding consists of around £2m (€2.3m) in growth financing from lender Gilion and a £1m strategic investment from smart locker operator Hive Box.
Stasher said the capital will be used to add more locations to its marketplace, increase marketing activity and accelerate the deployment of smart luggage lockers.
Founded in London in 2015 by Jacob Wedderburn-Day and Anthony Collias, Stasher operates a platform that allows travellers to book short-term luggage storage at hotels and other local businesses.
The company says its network has grown to more than 10,000 locations across over 1,200 cities worldwide.
Stasher has more recently begun adding dedicated smart lockers to its network, including through a rollout with hotel chain Premier Inn.
Following a pilot at Premier Inn London St Pancras in November 2025, Stasher lockers are now operating at 17 Premier Inn properties across London, Edinburgh and Manchester.
The company also has lockers at Zedwell Trocadero in London and StayKula properties in Kensington and Birmingham, while it works with Staycity Aparthotels at locations in the UK and Ireland.
Stasher claims bookings across its smart locker network are growing by 108% month on month, with its best-performing location generating £2,500 a week in locker revenue.
“We’ve spent the last ten years building Stasher into a global network, and this funding gives us the firepower to accelerate the next stage of growth,” said Wedderburn-Day, CEO and co-founder of Stasher.
“We’ll be investing in adding more locations and reaching more travellers, while expanding our smart locker network where we know there is unmet demand.”
As part of its partnership with Hive Box, Stasher is set to receive an initial 100 smart lockers for deployment across the UK and Europe by mid-2027.
Stasher said it will use booking and search data collected through its platform to determine where to install new lockers, including locations where existing luggage storage sites are reaching capacity or where demand continues outside staffed opening hours.
Tommy Xu, VP of international business at Hive Box, said the companies aimed to create “a scalable model for unattended luggage storage across the UK and Europe”.
The financing from Gilion will meanwhile provide additional growth capital for Stasher’s marketplace and marketing operations.
Fredrik Johansson, investment director at Gilion, said: “Stasher is a clear leader in its market, growing fast while keeping customer acquisition costs low in a very attractive segment.”
Stasher plans to target accommodation providers as well as transport hubs, visitor attractions and other high-footfall travel locations as it expands its locker network.
