T-Mobile, AT&T, and Verizon are joining forces to fix the US network's biggest problem

The big three are ready to team up to drive a major change in the US carrier network. Back in May, T-Mobile, AT&T, and Verizon announced that they would work together to get rid of dead zones while also expanding satellite coverage. Today, that vision is finally becoming a reality as the three carriers move forward to make networks across the US more reliable.

It's not that common, but it still happens

If you're someone that travels throughout your city, there's mostly likely one spot that doesn't get such great reception. You might have full bars, but the network just doesn't budge, or it might even be a complete dead zone without any bars.

Despite network coverage getting pretty good, there are some spots like that still exist. This new joint program with T-Mobile, AT&T, and Verizon will attempt to eliminate those dead zones, "reaching previously unserved areas."

In addition, the carriers pledge to provide "consistent performance and simpler access to satellite services across providers." And perhaps most important, "redundant connectivity will become available when existing ground-based networks are unavailable due to extreme natural disasters or other unusual disruptions."

Furthermore, the three carriers will also hope to stimulate the industry by "enabling competition, fostering innovation, expanding access, and simplifying integration, delivering significant benefits for satellite and mobile connectivity." For the most part, it all sounds like something good will come of this partnership.

Prices have been rising

While this is all well and good, what we'd really like to see are prices coming down. We know that these companies have to make a profit but at least honor previous commitments to customers. T-Mobile is one of the worst offenders, with recent changes increasing prices for its customers.

The carrier even recently upped some fees, which really outraged its customers. The brand is doing the most it can without any kind of repercussions. Of course, the best way to fight these kinds of changes is to speak with your wallet. Many have moved on to different carries, with MVNOs being top priorities.

The likes of Mint Mobile and Visible offer excellent service and coverage while charging more affordable rates. If you don't need all the extra perks, it's a good way to go.
