We've been hearing rumors about a new Fitbit Edge arriving soon, and it looks like Google has finally locked in the launch date for its next health-tracking wearable.
Google Health's account took to X/Twitter today to tease a new wearable arriving next week with the caption "Get an Edge on your health" and the date October 12. That pretty much suggests Google's next Fitbit tracker, reportedly called the Fitbit Edge, is now just a couple of days away.
The teaser doesn't reveal the device in full, but it does show a close-up of the right edge, including a button with golden accents around it and the bezel. The band also appears to have a color similar to the Canyon finish of the .
The Fitbit Edge is coming October 12
If you haven't heard about the Fitbit Edge yet, it's expected to fill the gap between the Fitbit Air and the . The fitness tracker leaked earlier this week, revealing a small, oval-shaped display while still retaining a relatively compact form factor.
Google has enjoyed quite a bit of success with the Fitbit Air, especially with its $99 starting price. And while the company still sells the Fitbit Charge 6, there hasn't been a new tracker that properly sits between the $99 Fitbit Air and the $400 Pixel Watch 5. That's exactly where the Fitbit Edge is expected to fit in.
According to the leaked renders and specifications, the Fitbit Edge will feature a small 1.34-inch display to show essentials like time, date, steps, heart rate, and other basic health metrics. Despite adding a screen, Google is reportedly still targeting up to seven days of battery life, similar to the Fitbit Air.
The Fitbit Edge is also expected to support both Android and iOS, which should make it appealing to users who don't necessarily want to be tied to one smartphone ecosystem. It'll reportedly pack many of the same health-tracking sensors as the Fitbit Air, but add a couple of useful extras, including built-in ECG support and GPS for tracking runs without relying on your phone.
Previous leaks have suggested that the Fitbit Edge could start at around €179 in Europe and £159 in the U.K., which could translate to a U.S. price somewhere around $180, although that hasn't been confirmed yet. The wearable is also rumored to arrive in four colors matching the Pixel 11 Pro lineup, including Obsidian, Olive, Canyon, and Fog.
Thankfully, we shouldn't have to wait much longer to find out how accurate these leaks are. With Google now teasing an October 12 announcement, we should learn everything about the Fitbit Edge, including its final specifications, pricing, and availability, in just a couple of days.
