The Z Fold 8 made a huge splash when it was first announced. The wide form factor really struck a chord, getting high praise from journalists and consumers. And in the US, it's going to be the most popular foldable phone you can buy in 2026. That's why we were surprised to see it discounted to a record low on Amazon of $1,550, down $350 from its original retail price of $1,900.

It's the right time
The Z Fold 8 is a great choice for a first foldable. The design is easy to use, the hardware is refined, and the software evolves over time. Samsung really hit it out of the park with this product, making the inner and outer screens truly usable.
It's powered by the best Qualcomm chip out and paired with 12GB of RAM to ensure smoothness. The 4,800mAh battery will last most people all-day, and 45W charging makes top-ups really quick. The phone has a 50MP main camera and 50MP ultrawide.
While it's not the camera selection you'd see on a flagship, it's going to be enough for most people. What's important here is that Samsung will support this phone with updates for seven years. That means it will just get better and better over time.
It's still an expensive piece of hardware, but I think this price makes it a bit more manageable. Folding phones are going to be expensive for some time, but this is your best chance of getting a great one that isn't last year's model at a fair price.
Amazon Prime has long since evolved from the days when it merely offered free two-day shipping and a burgeoning library of original shows. Prime now includes a music service, one of the most robust TV show and movie streaming services on the market, unique deals for its members — like free Twitch subscriptions and exclusive Whole Foods discounts — plus access to exclusive deals, especially on Amazon's unofficial-official holidays, like the upcoming Prime Big Deal Days.
