Paying £349.99 instead of £519.99 for the 1TB Xbox Series S leaves £170 to spend on the games you want to fill it with.
For only £349.99, a third less than usual, you get 1TB of space on an all-digital console where every game arrives as a download, and double the storage of the original model means more of your library stays installed and ready to play at once.
This Xbox Series S deal knocks a third off the price, and it’s the 1TB model
If you want a compact console with room for a proper digital library, the 1TB Xbox Series S at £349.99 is well worth considering.
Those installed games load quickly too, with one of our experts calling the Xbox Series S the best next-gen console for anyone on a budget. In his testing, the SSD loaded Final Fantasy XV in 17 seconds, against 1 minute and 23 seconds on the Xbox One S.
That speed carries over when you switch between games, since Quick Resume keeps several titles suspended at once, and our expert found he could ditch Doom Eternal and start playing Gears 5 in just 7 seconds, right where he left off.
Once you’re in, the Xbox Series S targets 1440p visuals at up to 120fps, and he saw Gears 5 jump from 30fps on the Xbox One S to a smooth 60fps, with richer lighting, sharper textures and more reflective metal surfaces.
That library stretches a long way back, because the console plays digital titles from four Xbox generations and carries over your progress, achievements and friends, while newer releases like Avowed and Indiana Jones and the Great Circle sit right alongside them.
