£43 off the Ultimate Ears Wonderboom 4 brings a waterproof, floating speaker down to just over half its £89.99 RRP.
Close to half price is what you pay at Amazon, where the Ultimate Ears Wonderboom 4 in black has fallen from its £89.99 RRP to £46.99 on a limited-time deal, saving you £43, or 48%, the deepest cut of any colour.
Ultimate Ears Wonderboom 4 drops to £46.99 on Amazon
Recycled plastic, a two-year manufacturer warranty and a price close to half its RRP make the Ultimate Ears Wonderboom 4 a very tempting buy.
Since August, it has mostly sold for somewhere between £52 and £70, so today’s price sits below its usual range and leaves room in the budget for a second speaker or a Christmas present for someone else.
A second speaker is worth thinking about, because pairing two Wonderboom 4 units lets them play louder together. Press the button again and the pair switches to true wireless stereo, and two at this price cost just £3.99 more than one did at full RRP.
Each one fills the space around it with 360° stereo sound, and a tap of the Outdoor Boost button retunes it for open spaces, so music carries properly across a back garden, a campsite or a crowded beach.
Sand and water are part of the plan, since IP67 protection keeps the Wonderboom 4 safe under a metre of water for 30 minutes and protected against dust, and it floats when it slips into the pool on a hot afternoon.
That toughness comes with staying power, as the 14-hour battery covers a full day out and into the evening, the 40m range lets your phone stay dry in a bag, and the attached strap loops it onto a backpack or hangs it from a branch.
