Wireless carriers offering great service at excellent prices isn't enough anymore. Customers demand more, and carriers can only do so much with service quality and price. However, brands can offer perks in the form of discounts or even free services, which is the direction that many of the top wireless carriers have taken.
T-Mobile was the first to start this kind of trend, with Verizon and others following suit. And while things have been pretty good for the most part, it looks like that could change soon. According to The Mobile Report, T-Mobile could offer customers the option to choose their own perks from a number of different providers.
This could get interesting

Personally, I like the idea of choosing the perks that matter most to me. Carrier plans are getting more and more expensive, so I'd love to use service discounts on the things I can actually use.
Reportedly, a new system is in place that will allow users to choose their own perks in the future. The Mobile Report says new codes have popped up in the system, suggesting this could be in the pipeline.
These new codes end with OUA, which news outlets presume stands for “On Us Add-on.” The codes presumably correspond to services like Apple Music, YouTube, SiriusXM, Paramount+, ESPN+, Xbox Game Pass, Google AI, and DashPass.
Now, there isn't a clear diagram of how this will work. But if it is revealed, The Mobile Report suggests it won't be a complete free-for-all with all the perks above. Instead, users will be able to choose one perk for their account, which is currently occupied by DashPass.
If the brand wants to get clever, it could even let users swap out the perk every so often. Better yet, it would allow customers to remove perks from their account that they don't use in order to lower their bill. Regardless of what will happen, this is a pretty exciting news. And it's even better if it actually comes to fruition.
T-Mobile has been pretty tight about which plans get which perks, favoring newer, higher-priced plans. Regardless, T-Mobile offers one of the better plans and perks of the big three. And it does so at a fair price.

This is all well and good, but if you want good service at a great price, an MVNO is the way to go. MVNOs rarely tack on extras to justify higher bills; instead, offering talk, text, and data, along with perks that align with the core service, like international coverage. We've tried a few over time, like Mint Mobile and Visible, and most of them work just as well.
